Automower 305 Lawnmowing Robot is a Dream for Lazy Geeks

by Shane McGlaun

If you own a home or condominium with a small yard and hate having to mow your lawn during the spring and summer – and have a penchant for robots and other geeky gear that lets you be lazy, Husqvarna has your back this summer with a new lawnmower robot called the Automower 305.

The compact robot weighs just 7kg (appx. 15 lbs.) and is designed to be used on small yards up to 500m2 (appx. 1640 sq. ft.). The Automower follows a route laid out by included wire that you staple into the ground. The robot mower runs from battery power, has 40 minutes of mow time per charge and it takes 150 minutes of to charge fully.

The Automower 305 even has an alarm system and pin pad that keeps the bot from working if someone steals it. It includes 150m (appx. 492 ft.) of wire and the staples to outline a path for the bot. The only bad thing about the gadget is that it costs 1490 EUR or a bit over $2,000 (USD).
