Live the Green Life With IKEA’s Solar-Powered Table Lamp

There’s no need to burn the midnight oil (or candle) anymore when you need to get some studying, reading, or work done on a night when your power dies on you. That is, if it was a really sunny day earlier and if you have one of these colorful and simplistic IKEA Solvinden Solar-Powered Table Lamps.

I’ve been hearing a lot about green and clean energy for the past few years now, so it was only a matter of time before people got around to making these lamps, don’t you think?

IKEA Solar-Powered Lamp

As you can see, IKEA’s solar-powered lamps come in four colors: two basic ones (black and white) and two bright ones (cyan and apple green.) They come with 3 rechargeable batteries that store energy from the sun via the solar panel found at the top of the lamp.

To charge your lamp up for a maximum usage time of four hours, simply put the lamp under the heat (or, more appropriately) light of the sun for a good 9-12 hours. You’ll need around 15 hours on a cloudy day.

They aren’t available for purchase online though, so you might have to take a trip down to your local IKEA store to get one (or two).
