R2-D2 Gets Decapitated, Turned into Flash Drive

Star Wars fans with weak stomachs, look away! R2-D2 has lost his head! We’re all so used to seeing C-3PO chopped up into pieces, but the little blue and white trash-can droid has usually been the resilient one. Good thing the only reason R2’s blown his top is because he’s actually a USB drive.

Yep, just pop the top on this R2 unit, and underneath is a bad motivator unit USB connector attached to a flash drive inside his body.

This little memory droid is available over at USB Geek in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacities with prices ranging from $17 to $34.50 (USD). That makes me ponder something… if Star Wars took place a long time ago how much memory R2-D2 actually had on board. 4K or 8K, maybe? I wonder what operating system he ran. We know that Android wasn’t around yet.
