Come On Guys, Give iPad Head Girl’s Face a Swipe

 |  |  |  |  |  |  August 4, 2011

Guys are difficult to target when it comes to ads. One of the best ways to get their attention is to plaster a really pretty (or sexy) woman beside the target product, but sometimes, even that doesn’t work.

Another is to get a pretty lady to walk around a New York park with an iPad for a head.

You didn’t read that line wrong: this girl has not one, but four iPad’s for a face. Wouldn’t you stare at her too, if you saw her casually strolling around in the park and finally settling down on a bench to read a book? (I doubt she’s really reading, though. I mean, come on, she may be iPad Head Girl, but even she doesn’t have X-ray vision.)

This was actually a clever marketing ploy by Hearst Publishing to promote Cosmo for Guys. To be honest, I’d give iPad Head Girl’s face a swipe or two as well, even though I’m a girl and not part of the target group for the stunt.

It took a while before a guy really did go up to IHG and swiped her face for good measure, only to be treated to several pages of content from the Cosmo for Guys magazine. You go, IHG!
