I love simple designs that still manage to greatly improve upon an already existing device. That’s exactly what we have here with this watch from designers Gennady Martynov and Emre Centinkprulu.
The Zoomin Watch is modern and minimal, and it enhances the time-telling experience at the same time. Using a simple analog face, it tells hours around the central dial, and minutes around the perimeter. But the nifty trick up its sleeve is that the rotating time indicators are tiny magnifying lenses.
This makes it extraordinarily easy to read the time at a glance. Plus, it just plain looks cool. The design also calls for a glow-in-the-dark background, which would make it just as easy to read at night.
So what’s not to like about the Zoomin Watch? Absolutely nothing – except for the fact that it doesn’t yet exist, and is only a design concept. All I can say is that somebody better get off their butts and start making these now. I know I’d buy one.
