Huge Bejeweled Diamond Ring for Bejeweled Fan: Perfect Match

 |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  October 13, 2011

PopCap Games recently held a contest asking players to share interesting stories involving the company’s Facebook and downloadable game Bejeweled Blitz. The winner was a hardcore fan named Laura Sheriff. Her story? Her competitive gamer boyfriend Chris proposed to her after failing to beat her high score of over 600,000 points. He told her that he knew “it was meant to be because she beat his score.” Her prize?

It’s not really made from a diamond, but it is still a touching and funny gesture from a company to a fan. The gift was made even more special because PopCap gave it to Chris and Laura for their 1st wedding anniversary on October 10, 2011. This means the two got married on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10), which also happens to be the 10th anniversary of Bejeweled. You can’t make up stuff like that.

Check out the source links below for more on Chris and Laura’s love story (Kotaku also has high res pics of the huge ring). I wonder what the prize would be if PopCap games held a Plants vs. Zombies contest.
