If you are in the market for a new action cam that can be worn or mounted for all sorts of sports activities, Swann has a new one you might like. The new camera looks a lot like the GoPro cameras already on the market with a key difference. The Swann Freestyle HD has an integrated LCD screen.

The built-in display is 1.5-inches diagonal, and lets you see what you are recording. The camera can shoot 1080p HD video (at 30fps) and 8MP still photos. It also has 3x digital zoom and stereo sound. Video is stored on microSD cards and the camera has an internal rechargeable battery which should provide 2.5 hours on a full charge. The cam also comes with a wireless remote that lets you turn the camera on and off at a distance.

The camera doesn’t appear to have a dedicated suction cup mount for cars, but it comes with several mounting brackets to choose from, including a helmet bracket. A waterproof plastic case is included and protects the camera up to 65-feet deep. It should be available any day now over at the Swann website, and sells for $279.99 (USD).
