Vintage Arcade Mega Poster, Gotta Play Them All

by Conner Flynn

I love vintage arcade games. I love the art on the cabinets, I love the sound they make and I love the games. Probably because I grew up with them. There’s nothing quite like those great big buttons and that stiff joystick… Okay, that just sounds strange.

God knows how many quarters I pumped into those machines. If I had it all back today I could buy an army of arcade games, including several from this awesome poster. I see Missile Command, Asteroids, Centipede, Gravitar, Q*Bert, Breakout, and Sinistar, among others. I’m pretty sure that I’ve played all of these at least once.

This amazing image comes from Axel Pfaender, who never published it as a print because of concerns about copyright issues. Stupid lawyers. Regardless, I’d like to thank him for bringing back some good memories. When I saw this I was transported back to those days when arcades were new and amazing and nothing like them had been on the Earth before.
