Portal Diagram Blanket: After Testing, There Will Be Resting

by Paul Strauss

Fans of Portal will immediately recognize the icons on this blanket from those instruction posters at the entrance of each of Aperture Labs’ test chambers. It seems to cover most of the basics, from Weighted Companion Cube use to turret avoidance, to accelerating via portals. Though it doesn’t provide any details on how you might use it to cover up and catch a nap or keep your feet warm.

The Portal blanket was created by Flickr contributor DoctorMoo, and measures in at a whopping 9 feet by 6 feet, and weighs in at 7 pounds, so it’s definitely substantial. It took Moo about 74 hours of crocheting – and countless hours of planning to pull off this brilliant feat of geekery, and it looks like it was worth it.

While it doesn’t appear that the blanket is up for sale, you can certainly grab a cool crocheted Portal scarf over at DoctorMoo’s Etsy shop for just $35(USD).
