Sam Kerr iPhone Portraits: Who Needs Paint and Canvas?

British illustrator Sam Kerr recently re-imagined several famous portraits, turning them into caricatures using his iPhone. The caricatures removed detailed facial features and replacing them with a few squiggles and typographic characters.

The portraits had their faces erased and redone. Only the hair and background were kept the same. It’s amazing how recognizable these portraits are. The set was completed by Sam while he was bedridden for six months because of some back problems.

While these illustrations are fun (and a little creepy,) it’s even more impressive that Sam did all of his other illustrations using only his iPhone during this period as well.
