Remember that spectacular LEGO sandcrawler model we featured last year? Built from over 10,000 LEGO parts by Marshal Banana, it was truly the work of LEGO master. While the original was a completely custom build, Marshal is hoping to convince LEGO to turn it into an official kit you can build yourself.
Using LEGO’s new crowdsourcing platform, Cuusoo, Marshal has set up a project to encourage LEGO to create their own Jawa Sandcrawler kit based on his original design.
The project currently has just about 1,700 supporters, but Cuusoo requires that you have at least 10,000 supporters before LEGO will actually review the project for consideration. As a huge fan of both LEGO and Star Wars, I’d love to see this awesome creation turned into a kit I could actually build – or even a smaller, less complex version if that’s what it takes to get it into production.
If you like Marshal’s Sandcrawler as much as I do, head on over to Cuusoo and show your support for an official LEGO Sandcrawler (and tell all your pals, too.) Let’s see if we can help push this Sandcrawler over the goal line and into LEGO’s official Star Wars catalog. The Jawas are counting on you!
