Late last month we mentioned the unusual Cookoo analog smart watch that was on Kickstarter looking for the funding it needs to come to the real world. The watch started last month seeking $150,000 in funding. As of this morning, the watch has already raised over $163,000 from nearly 1700 backers. That means the watch will fund on July 7 giving about 31 more days to raise money.
In celebration of reaching the funding goal, the company has added a new pink version of the Cookoo watch for the ladies and changed some of the pledge packages. There is now a $200 Basic Developer Pack that provides the buyer with one watch and an unsupported license to develop an app using the Connected Device Profile and API for Android.
At $750 you can get and Independent Developer Pack with two watches and license to develop apps with an hour of e-mail support. For $4000, you get 10 of the watches, and app development license, and eight hours of individual support. This is a cool watch and I can’t wait to see what applications developers come up with for it.
And if you just want one of the watches for yourself, you can still get one for as little as $80 over on Kickstarter.
