Samsung SodaStream Refrigerator Is One Step from Fulfilling a Childhood Dream

 |  |  |  February 15, 2013

Growing up, there were three things that I wanted to possess so badly I could hardly stand it. One was the General Lee, the other was Heather Thomas, and the third was a refrigerator that had a soft drink dispenser in the door. I don’t think I expected too much. While I’ve grown out of the General Lee phase, and Heather Thomas isn’t as good looking as she once was, I still really want that refrigerator that dispenses Dr. Pepper out of door.

I’ve been waiting for someone to come up with this device for years and it looks like Samsung is now only a small step away from making my soft drink dreams come true.

Samsung has unveiled a four-door refrigerator that dispenses sparkling water from the door. The sparkling water portion of the refrigerator is courtesy of SodaStream and uses a 60L CO2 cylinder concealed inside of the refrigerator door.

The refrigerator has a button on the front next to the ice and normal water dispensers that allow users to choose from three different carbonation levels for their sparkling water. The refrigerator is model number RF31FMESBSR and will launch in the US this April for $3899(USD). Dreams certainly don’t come cheap.

All I need is this refrigerator, a big box of Dr. Pepper syrup, and some ingenuity and I will possess my dream. I wonder if Heather Thomas can drive the General Lee over to help me. I think my wife will understand.
