ColorWare MacBook Air Retro Barely Has Any Color on It

ColorWare usually promotes its services with boldly colored samples, but this time they’re taking a more laid back approach. Perhaps too laid back. Its MacBook Air Retro is a maxed out 13″ MacBook Air with a color scheme and accents inspired by the classic Apple IIe and a price tag inspired by Upworthy’s headlines.

The limited-edition MacBook Air Retro has a “putty” or light beige color, faux vents on its lid, the word “Retro” in place of “MacBook Air” below the laptop’s display and the rainbow-colored Apple logo in lieu of the white one. Aaaand that’s about it.

ColorWare is asking $3,499 (USD) for the MacBook Air Retro, twice the price of a 13″ MacBook Air with the upgraded CPU, SSD and RAM. Perhaps this is one of those things that has to be seen in real life to be admired, but for that price I’d expect to have at least the exact same Apple IIe case and keyboard colors.
