It’s no secret that George Lucas borrowed story ideas from Akira Kurosawa’s samurai movies when he created Star Wars. Even Darth Vader’s suit resembles samurai armor. If that wasn’t obvious enough, Bandai’s badass S.H. Figuarts Star Wars samurai action figures will make the connection painfully obvious.
The Movie Realization Darth Vader action figure is about 7″ tall and has a badass lightsaber katana, a lightsaber katana hilt and interchangeable hands. The Movie Realization Stormtrooper is about 6.7″ tall and has an antique rifle, a katana and interchangeable hands.
You can already order the Darth Vader samurai action figure from BigBadToyStore for $110 (USD). Toyark says the Stormtrooper samurai action figure will be released on 05/15 for about $70, though I’m sure it’ll be as expensive as their boss when ordered outside of Japan.
