Chainsaw Carved Wood Batman Sculpture: The Bark Knight

by Conner Flynn

Artists who carve wood amaze me. It takes real talent to transform trees into sculptures. I would probably end up in the E.R. if I tried. I’ll just leave it to the professionals, like artist Thomas Earing of Seattle. He clearly knows what he is doing with a chainsaw. This wooden Batman you see here is proof of his skills.

The Washington artist makes wood carvings for a living, and his Batman is full of great detail. The Bark Knight stands 7 feet-tall and is carved from silver maple.

I love that he is wearing the old costume and is posed as if he is on a rooftop surveying Gotham below. I wish I had one for my yard.
