We have seen some crazy folks waiting in lines at Apple stores around the world when new iPhones are launching. Sometimes there are hundreds of folks in these lines. Recently in Japan, one Apple Store offered up some items called “Lucky Bags” that are more in line with what we would call grab bags here in the States.
Earlier this week, this huge Pac-Man maze showed up in the LA Fashion District. Apparently it is for a Bud Light Super Bowl commercial they’re filming. It even has life-size ghosts and dots.
The commercial is called “Coin” and focuses on a man being alerted via a beer bottle message to go outside.
Roll20 is an interesting game platform. It’s designed for you and your distant friends to get together, just like the good old days, for a session of a tabletop RPG. The difference is that you’re using a virtual tabletop that comes with a ton of digital apps and assistance.
My mom was big on coasters growing up. She had enough polish on the coffee table that you could play shuffleboard on it without scratching the table, and it repelled water like a duck’s back. Still, she wanted us to use coasters.
Here’s a fun project from Al Linke, the creator of the PIXEL. He used the board that he made for his pixel art LED frame to turn an LED matrix into a comically huge and interactive jewelry, which he affectionately calls the iBling.
Kids are weird. They run around screaming at nothing, haphazardly waving sticks at things, and have emotional responses to doorknobs and pavement. They’re like tiny lunatics with poor hand-eye coordination. What’s going on with the way they interact with the world is a product of very active imaginations that haven’t yet been hampered by societal expectations and pragmatism.
Umbrellas are one of those things that many of us don’t think about needing until it’s pouring outside and you have to run from the car to the office. Naturally, this happens most often when you are in something that doesn’t dry for about 17 hours after getting wet.
Let’s say that you are a crazy clown hell-bent on killing lots of folks in Gotham and you find yourself in love with an equally crazy gal you met in Arkham Asylum. Well, this is the perfect necklace for the both of you to wear.
I don’t think smartwatches are as useful as they’re cracked up to be, but I also didn’t expect that they could be another way to express one’s geekiness. That’s all thanks to user made skins for Android watches, like njdom24’s sweet Codec skin.
Normally when I see a Hawaiian shirt-wearing person, they are really old or just have bad taste. Normally I don’t approve of Hawaiian shirts at all, but in this case, I will make an exception. This is a Deadpool Hawaiian shirt and it has the sword-wielding super hero hidden in the print.
If you want to give your kitchen a Nintendo theme, this Refrigerator Game Boy Decal is the way to start. This decal turns your boring and plain refrigerator into a not so portable gaming device – one that has Tetris on the screen.
I have a couple of external hard drives that I bought just a couple of years ago. Together, they’re large enough to use as a foot rest. But now we have this. The Fasetto Link is a wireless external SSD encased in a rugged wristband that’s just a tad larger than a watch.
Okay… so you have a selfie stick, I’ll forgive you. You’re ridiculous, but I’ll accept a lot of ridiculous. If you have a selfie stick designed solely for taking photos of your own ass we all want to hit you with a crowbar.
