Here’s a great time waster that will have you playing around for hours when you should be working. Screentendo is a desktop app that lets you to turn any part of your computer screen into a playable Super Mario Bros. level. Yes, we are living in an amazing age. It’s a great time to be a video game geek.

Have fun with Mario as you run around and jump and break blocks. It may not be as exciting as a real Mario game, but it’s pretty cool. Aaron Randall’s app works by image processing the highlighted portion of your screen, and it renders blocks based on the shapes. So, like Magic, you can turn the Google logo into a Super Mario level. Pretty neat huh?

I can’t wait for the VR version that turns my house into a level. Then I break my whole house thinking I’m getting coins and stuff. You can download the source code for Screentendo here.
