How to Jump Start a Car with AA Batteries

 |  |  |  June 30, 2015

When your car battery dies, you can either ask someone for a jump start, or call for some roadside assistance and let them handle the process when they arrive. Those are the most common practices, but what if there was another way?

If you’re the DIY type, your options are not so limited when it comes to jump starting a car battery; assuming you have a bunch of AA batteries with you anyway. Oh, and a soldering iron and solder to connect them them together. Oh, and make sure you connect the positive to positive and negative to negative otherwise your AA batteries will get fried and you will be in for a smoky surprise as shown in this video by engineer Mehdi Sadaghdar from ElectroBOOM.

You learn something new everyday.
