Experience Curiosity Gives You Control over a Virtual Rover

 |  |  August 6, 2015

NASA has announced a new virtual experience that will let you get behind the controls of the Curiosity rover, without risking crashing it into a Martian ditch. The tool is called Experience Curiosity and it is an interactive website built using actual data gathered from Curiosity and the MRO.

With the tool you can drive Curiosity around the red planet, use its tools, and view the planet through its cameras. The idea is to give fans of the space program a chance to experience a day in the life of Curiosity.

NASA says that Experience Curiosity uses real scientific data to make a realistic and game-ready rover model. The entire virtual rover is based on real mechanisms and executed commands. Play with Experience Curiosity all you want at this link.
