We’ve seen a couple of electronics kits with graphical programming interfaces for beginners. There’s also a similar environment for Arduino. The Everything Machine is a graphical programming sandbox for hardware that many people already have: a mobile device.
Made by Tinybop, The Everything Machine uses an iOS device’s camera, microphone, touchscreen and other media capabilities as input to create a variety of virtual machines. The parts of the machine (i.e. the program) are categorized, labeled and have big icons for easy drag-and-drop placement.
Here are a couple of sample programs made with the app:
The Everything Machine also has an Apple Watch app that adds another way to control or feed input. You can buy it from the App Store for only $3 (USD).
