David aka The Unlockr came up with a fun way for experienced smartphone tinkerers to show off their skills. He’s selling a DIY kit that adds an LED to the back of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The LED diverts a bit of power from the iPhone’s screen, so it lights up and turns off together with the screen, just like the Apple logo on MacBooks.
No thanks, David! I can barely replace my phone’s case. Those who have the nerve and the know-how can order the kit from his store. He sells the iPhone 6 kit for $35 (USD) and the iPhone 6 Plus kit for $38. He’ll also sell kits for 6S and 6S Plus soon.
