Fluxo Smart Lamp Keeps the Peace

 |  |  |  December 11, 2015

It seems like every time I am watching something cool on TV, my wife decides it’s time to do some sort of art project on the table right behind me. That means she wants the light on in the dining room, which throws a glare on the TV that annoys me through the entire show. What I need in the dining room is the Fluxo light because it can shine the light just where you want it.

Fluxo has some sweet tech inside that allows it to change where the focus of the light is, via an app on your smartphone. That means my wife could shine the light on her surface and leave the glare off my screen, without the need for a second lighting fixture.

Fluxo has hundreds of white and RGB LEDs inside and can throw mood lighting on your furniture, walls or ceiling in any color you want. It’s all very cool. The only weird thing about Fluxo is that it is a pendant lamp, not a floor lamp. That means you have to connect it to the ceiling and that probably means ditching a ceiling fan, which is no good here in Texas.

Fluxo has been raising funds on Kickstarter now and has destroyed its original goal with over a month to go. You can order a lamp up for $363(USD) with shipping estimated for August 2016.
