Open the Master Lock Bluetooth Padlock with Your Smartphone

 |  |  |  |  December 13, 2015

The padlock doesn’t seem like a device that needs much of an upgrade, but it is getting one anyway to bring it into the modern age. Master Lock’s smart Bluetooth padlocks are just as easy to use as the classic versions. You just use your phone instead of a key.

When you purchase a lock, you have to download a mobile app and pair the lock to your phone. You can either use your phone as the key or enter a Konami code like sequence on the face of the lock if you don’t have your phone with you. It’s supposed to be just as secure as the old thing, only now more convenient since you don’t need to carry a key.

It looks like a pretty cool upgrade to the classic padlock.
