Xbox One App Uses Kinect to Turn Your Living Room into a Dressing Room

E-commerce company Von Bismark might be giving Xbox One owners a good reason to dust off their Kinects. The company launched a new Xbox One shopping app called The Mall that features an augmented reality dressing room.

The app uses the Kinect to track your body and project an image of the clothes that you’re checking out in real time. Sadly, it looks like you can preview only the front of the item. You can also snap a picture of yourself wearing virtual clothes and share them online. When you’re ready to buy, use the PowaTag app and your mobile device to scan the item’s QR code.

Digital Trends says The Mall currently shows apparel from only a handful of stores: SoccerPro, Grayers, Go2Games and Style PB. But surely more will join if the service proves popular. Valve should release a similar system for Team Fortress 2 so that players can try their hats on.
