Right now, it seems like everything is about Star Wars, but let’s not forget about that other awesome classic sci-fi franchise, Star Trek. 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the series, and to celebrate, Spin Master has unveiled a quadcopter version of the USS Enterprise and it looks amazing.

If there was ever a better name for a 3D printer than “3D printer”, it would probably be ThingMaker. So it’s no surprise that the accidentally prescient toymaker Mattel is relaunching its brand as exactly that.

Actually it really is expensive. Sadly, the product’s website is all in Japanese, but from my understanding Bullet is indeed selling the tape.

Here’s something that is pretty darn cool for fans of Star Wars. This gizmo is called the Star Wars 3D Holodisplay. Basically it’s a desktop device that brilliantly illuminates holograms of scenes from the movies. The display uses full-parallax tech, and the lighting and angle are fixed for viewing.

I loved Mario Kart back in the day, but boy could the game piss me off. Getting nailed with a turtle shell and off the track waiting for a tow that seemed to take forever was a ticket to throw-the-controller-land. 

The damned Duck Hunt dog is hounding us into the 21st century, thanks to Computer Science student Joseph Delgado. Joseph spent an entire day making a virtual reality version of the classic NES shooter. Joseph made the game for the recently concluded Global Game Jam 2016.

Only in the 1970s could you find such a fruity stereo. Wait. Bananas are a fruit right? Or are they an herb? I have no idea now. I just know that this stereo is bananas. This portable record player is shaped like a banana and what is even more bananas is that it could be played in any position.

I can’t think of a better weapon for the zombie apocalypse than this full auto Coke Bottle Gatling Gun. Also, I definitely want the guy who built this, Joerg Sprave, with me as I fight off the horde.

Sledding down hills is fun in the winter time, but lugging a sled around snow-covered hills is not a fun chore. Well, there is an answer to that age old problem now. Sled Legs! Now you can wear your sleds on your legs, which seems like a simple but brilliant idea.

If you haven’t seen Immersion yet, it’s a new series by Rooster Teeth. The idea is that they recreate elements of popular video games in real life. It’s pretty awesome. The latest episode has members of the team bringing the classic arcade video game Space Invaders to life.

The Curiosity Rover is still up there right now cruising around the surface of Mars doing its sciency stuff. It’s picking up dirt, checking it for microbes or water, and taking some really cool selfies. The latest video that NASA has offered up from the Red Planet is one that Curiosity shot.

Whoever the deviant, glorious bastard was who came up with the latest Twitch masterpiece is a damned genius. It sounds like your typical boring Twitch stream on the surface – a contest where people sit on a couch and play Super Smash Bros.

The HELCY bag has a silly backronym – Healthy Ergonomic Laptop Case for You – but the idea behind it is actually pretty sound. If you usually take a stand with your laptop, why not carry one less item around and use your bag as the stand?
