Like K’NEX building toys? How about mechanical contraptions? Then you are going to love this. Guinness World Records recently certified that this machine built by Austin Granger is the world’s largest K’NEX ball contraption. It was probably also the world’s biggest headache to assemble. This is one crazy machine.
Granger is a 23-year-old computer science student at the University of Minnesota. He is no stranger to K’NEX since he has been building K’NEX projects since he was five years old. Now he has achieved legend status and is in the nerd history book known as Guinness World Records. This huge mechanical structure was commissioned by Brickmania Toyworks in Minneapolis. It has 126,285 K’NEX pieces and runs 278 meters, or about 913 feet in total length.
I love watching machines like this. It is very calming and zen. Great job, Austin.
