Board games can be pretty cool, and if you want something more modern and fun than say Monopoly, there are plenty of options. For instance, a new DOOM board game is landing later this year. This new game is inspired by the recent video game reboot which has proven so popular.

Growing up, my grandmother loved to knit me blankets with lots of space between the braids or whatever you call them in knitting circles. The thing I never understood is how is a blanket that has so much open space supposed to keep you warm?

Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics is a new book from strategy-guide publisher Prima Games. It is coming this November, which is great because we are all getting ourselves a copy for Christmas. This hardcover book has 320 pages of interviews from the NES era, some vintage advertising and “priceless excerpts from Nintendo Power magazine back issues.”

Sadly, you can’t carry your 3D printer with you everywhere. Or can you? Ultimaker has come up with a solution that promises to make transporting a 3D printer a little easier: a pair of shoulder straps that turns it into a backpack for $69.

There are an insane amount of projects being launched and funded on Kickstarter, so it can be hard to keep track of what was funded and what hasn’t been. Amazon will help with that. They have created a storefront in partnership with Kickstarter that will show you nothing but products which were launched on Kickstarter.

The Ripchair 3.0 by Howe and Howe Technologies is a high-powered wheelchair that provides off-road access to the disabled. It accepts your existing chair and allows people who ride in wheelchairs to go over terrain that they normally would stay away from.

Hot on the heels of Nintendo’s plan to release its miniature retro console, SEGA is also releasing a modern version of the classic Mega Drive (aka Genesis) to celebrate Sonic’s 25th anniversary. This new console is a lot like the old one, only smaller.

Meet CreepyFig. This is the nightmare fuel creation of special effects artist Frank Ippolito teaming up with Tested. CreepyFig is a lifelike LEGO minifig mask and hands. I say lifelike. I mean demented and wrong on every level. 

Back in the day, I was rather obsessed with blimps. I thought they were super cool because they’re essentially a giant balloon you could fly under. Lockheed Martin has evolved the blimp into something called the Hybrid Airship, a massive flying vessel designed to carry lots of cargo to remote locations – and where it’s going, it doesn’t need roads.
