TV has officially gone to the dogs now that they have their own remote controls. Illyena Hirsky-Douglas, a researcher at in animal computer design at University of Central Lancashire, collaborated with pet food brand Wagg to create the world’s first television remote just for dogs. Like the one for your grandparents, it comes with extra-large buttons that are easy for the dogs to press with their paws.
The color of the remote is blue and yellow, since dogs are red and green color blind but have very good eyesight for blue and yellow. It was specifically designed for pet owners who leave their dogs alone at home, while they are at work. This way your dog won’t be bored.
The team created the remote control after research revealed that ‘an average dog now watches more than nine hours of TV a week.’ Well, I guess you have to fight Fido for the TV button now.
