Our phones are pretty tough these days. They’ve come a long way. Some cane even withstand drops and water pretty well. Fire, not so much. Our phones have a long way to go before they are fireproof. This video is proof of that.

Check out Zach Straley’s latest YouTube video in which he tests how well each generation of iPhone handles being doused in gasoline and then set ablaze. I know how you guys like to watch stuff being destroyed. Me too. Interestingly, the older the phone the better the results it seems.

I guess Apple used to make their phones tougher. It’s also possible that the results were skewed by the fuel puddling at the bottom of the pan. Luckily, we don’t expect our phones to survive in a raging inferno.
