These 3D-printed Mountain Rings Are Created with NASA Data

 |  |  |  September 29, 2016

Do you like mountains? Why not put one on a ring and wear it? Maybe you love cartography. If so, Portland, Oregon-based design studio Waaypoint has created some beautiful jewelry with a little help from NASA.

These rings and pendants are modeled after mountainous regions located on our very planet, and based on elevation mapping data from NASA. This jewelry is 3D-printed, then cast in silver, plated rose gold, or plated 18k gold.

Waaypoint only has designs based on a single location right now, created in the image of Mt. Hood, located near the company’s headquarters, but there’s no reason they couldn’t offer other locations.
