I’ve never been to New York City for the holidays, but I have seen plenty of movies over the years where kids have their noses pressed up against the glass store windows checking out all the displays. Those holiday windows are up in real life, with as many as 5 million people traveling to Manhattan each year to see them.
If you can’t make the trip yourself, Google has a new virtual tour that lets you walk down Manhattan streets and look in the Store windows along without bumping elbows with the throngs of onlookers. You can see couture dresses inspired by Christmas treats, South Park characters, a holiday pinball machine and lots more.
There are 17 stores to tour in all. You can take the tour without a VR headset, but it works best with a Google Cardboard headset or something similar. Check it out by visiting Window Wonderland on your PC or mobile device.
