Growing up, the thing I looked hardest for each year when it was time to go back to school wasn’t shoes or shirts, it was a new lunch box. The competition for coolest box at lunch was intense, and if yours sucked, kids made fun of you. Along the way, I rocked an ET box and had a Dukes of Hazzard lunch box too.
I always preferred the metal sort with the embossed designs to stickers on plastic boxes. This Back to the Future lunch box reminds me of the early ’80s lunch room, even though the films had yet to be released.
One side of this metal lunch box features the DeLorean complete with flaming skid marks as it reaches 88 MPH, while the sides have the iconic OUTATIME license plate. The back is a bit of a reach, with Space Zombies from Pluto artwork based on a prop used in the film that I don’t even remember.
