Gourmet Popping Candy Can Be Mixed with Dr. Pepper

 |  |  |  December 27, 2016

Growing up, there was this rumor going around that if you mixed Pop Rocks with Dr. Pepper your guts would explode. I was in first or second grade at the time and somehow my mom totally believe this rumor. I loved Pop Rocks, but wasn’t allowed to have them and a Dr. Pepper after school. Still, I devised a fiendish plan where my brother bought a Dr. Pepper and I got the Pop Rocks.

As my mom started driving I gleefully announced “Hey MOM!” as I filled my mouth with Pop Rocks and swigged Dr. Pepper, my mom lost it. I got in trouble for it, but the upside is I cured my mom of her Pop Rock fears when the worst that happened was a frothy mess in the car. I think you would be safe eating these gourmet popping candies with any soft drink you want.

They aren’t boring flavors like grape or cherry mind you, these are adult flavors. You get beer, bacon, and wasabi flavors in one three pouch kit. Alas, there is no actual beer involved or bacon for that matter. I guess you could get a mouthful of the beer popping candy and a swig of beer and see if your innards explode, just don’t do it within slapping reach of your mom. Get yours at ThinkGeek for $9.99(USD).
