35mm Movie Lampshades: By the Light of the Silvery Film

35mm Movie Lampshades: By the Light of the Silvery Film
With the rise of digital projectors and 4K video, theaters that play movies recorded on 35 mm or 70 mm film are becoming more and more rare. I remember back when I was in college and running the campus film program lugging giant containers of film stock up to the projection booth and then waiting for our projectionist to splice on trailers and make sure the sprockets weren’t all torn up before showing the movie.

Celebrate Blade Runner 2049 with This Origami Unicorn Silver Pendant

Celebrate Blade Runner 2049 with This Origami Unicorn Silver Pendant
I’ve yet to see the Blade Runner 2049, but everyone is saying it’s a pretty incredible movie. Given the fact that the original Blade Runner is one of my favorite films of all time (despite its flaws), I can’t want to see how Denis Villenueve’s long-awaited sequel turned out. Fans of the original Blade Runner know that Gaff (Edward James Olmos) liked to make little origami animals, most significantly, the unicorn that is representative of Rick Deckard’s mysterious past.

These Steampunk Clockwork Goggles Mesmerize with Light
If there’s one bit of kit that’s essential to a proper steampunk outfit, it’s a pair of goggles. Sure, you could just go down to the army surplus shop and buy some old industrial goggles, or you could do what John Park did, and make the kind of goggles that Daft Punk would have had if they were a victorian era act. John actually made these sweet goggles for his daughter who plans on going with a steampunk look this Halloween, and they look awesome.

Stormtrooper Cheese Board: May the Roquefort Be With You

Stormtrooper Cheese Board: May the Roquefort Be With You
Until now, the only things that were truly cheezy about the Star Wars universe were the prequels, especially Jar Jar Binks. But now you can have a Star Wars and cheese combo any time you desire, thanks to this fun stormtrooper cheese board set. This cherry wood cheese board is laser engraved in the shape of a stormtrooper helmet, and when you remove the mask, you’ll find a Stilton knife, a Cheddar knife, a hard cheese knife and a cheese fork hiding underneath. I think that’s it’s a much better idea to go with knives than laser blasters, since we all know that a stormtrooper can’t hit the broad side of a space freighter, let alone a block of gorgonzola.

LEGO sells all kinds of kits but they don’t currently make any which let you build a musical instrument. That could change if this LEGO Ideas grand piano model gets enough fan support. Eduard Reynolds designed this nifty LEGO replica of a concert grand piano, and it looks fantastic.
