Handcrafted and sold by artist Ruben Morales of Etsy shop vacialanevera, the Sardine Can Ring is a piece of finger jewelry in the form of a miniature sardine can with three little fish inside. The rings are currently in the running for an Etsy Design Award, and I can see why – such whimsy.
The $160 rings are all handmade in three adjustable sizes and are constructed of silver and brass, with enameled porcelain fish inside. Couple the ring with a shark tooth necklace and a bracelet that looks like fish bones, and you’ll be the total package! What package that is, I’m unsure of. Maybe the fish frenzy package?
I have a friend that loves absolutely eating sardines straight from the can. They’re one of his all-time favorite snacks. Now I know what you’re thinking, but no, surprisingly, he isn’t a cat. Or at least if he is, he wears a very convincing human costume.
