Constructed by David Hall of Solid Brix Studios and friends, this massive LEGO diorama of the Star Wars Battle of Geonosis features over 250,000 pieces, numerous different scenes of the battle, and lots of Easter eggs. I love Easter eggs. The chocolate Cadbury Creme ones specifically. Beyond the Brick posted a great close-up video of the amazing scene.
The diorama tells the story of the Galactic Republic launching an invasion of Geonosis by the Jedi-led Grand Army to shut down the battle droid factories built there by Geonosian Archduke Poggle the Lesser and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, defeat the separatists, and capture Poggle. A mission that was a success. My most recent mission is to not fall asleep on the couch again. I woke up at 4 AM with the TV remote stuck to my arm.
The people that undertake these projects never cease to amaze me. Partly because of their grand vision and ability to execute that vision, but mostly because they can afford all these LEGO pieces. I don’t know what they all do for a living, but clearly, I’m in the wrong business.
