STUND Watch Doesn’t Tell Time, Just Vibrates at Select Intervals

The STUND watch doesn’t tell time like a traditional watch. Instead, you choose either 5-, 15-, 30-, or 60-minute intervals, and it will vibrate on your wrist so you can FEEL the passing of time and practice more mindfulness. That’s… something. Something a lot of people are willing to pay $180 for, according to its heavily-funded Indiegogo campaign.

The watch features no app, no smartwatch functionality, and no pause option. The case is machined from a solid piece of 316L grade stainless steel, comes with a choice of three colors of leather strap, and weighs in at 50 grams. Its common CR2032 coin battery is good for about 5 months of vibrating on your dresser.

While practicing mindfulness and being aware of the present is certainly important, it’s also important to actually know what time it is occasionally. This is exactly why I plan on wearing a STUND on one wrist and a regular watch on the other. I’m nothing if not practical.
