Some people are so rich, that it seems like they have everything. Others may have just enough in terms of finances, but they can be so happy and content with life, that it would still seem like they have everything they need.

There are days when you want to be with people. There are times when you just want to be alone. So when people overstep boundaries and cross the line into your personal space when you’re in the latter mood, it gets more than just annoying.

You never know when you might need to leave a bus or a train by window. Accidents could happen. A fire could break out on board. A gun man could be threatening every passenger. It’s often during times like this (or right after) that people would wish they had come up with something that could’ve helped the people on board out.

Have you tried sharing an umbrella with someone who’s shorter than you? It’s fine if you’re the one holding it, but if the other person is holding it, then you might feel a couple of bumps as the frame scrapes against your head, because your companion might be holding it a wee bit low.

Emotional eating is more common than you think. Some people sing their worries away, while others find that they’re calmer when they’re eating a cookie. Then a salad. Then a bowl of noodles. And so on and so forth.

I’ve found out about the untimely demise of several people not through friends or family, but through Facebook. It’s odd and a bit depressing to see messages of condolences sandwiched in between selfies and links to The Oatmeal’s latest comic, but it’s happening a lot more frequently these days as more people get into social media.

Tis the season to be jolly. It’s a few weeks before Christmas, and despite the trials and challenges that continue to come, one can’t help but feel light and cheerful during this time of year. At least, that’s how I feel, anyway.

A blood transfusion might spell the difference between life and death. This is apparent during emergency situations and in the case of accidents where the victims are in danger of bleeding out. But before any transfusions can be done, the patient’s blood type must be verified.

There’s just something about Nicolas Cage that inspires people to create memes, apps, and even eyeshadows in his likeness. The latest one is called “Feeling Cagey?” and it inserts a little bit (or rather, a whole lot) of Nicolas Cage in each and every selfie it finds on Instagram.

How would you like to have your favorite memories for snacks? You can even skewer them or heat them up to make some extra memorable smores. Sounds pretty impossible, but as long as that moment is captured and posted on Instagram, then Boomf can make it happen.

Every year, trash cans all around the world overflow with discarded gift wrap and packaging on Christmas morning. Some people take the time to unwrap their presents carefully on Christmas eve so the paper can be recycled, but the majority don’t have the patience (or simply don’t care enough) to do so. 

You might not realize it yet, but the sun – or rather, the amount of sunlight you can expect for the day – plays a big part in most of your plans. Nobody wants to drive out to the beach when the sun is expected to set early, or trek a mountain while they’re losing daylight.

You might not be able to write for a living for one reason or another, even if you wanted to, but that doesn’t mean you should stop writing. Let off some steam, talk about your dreams, share funny anecdotes – there are so many things you can do with words.

As the old saying goes, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” At the rate people are skipping meals these days, I think you can tweak that to, “Three square meals a day keeps the doctor away.” 

If you’re filthy rich and happen to have a huge expansive library in your very own home, then you might have some use for this reading net. Otherwise, all you can do is stare at it longingly like the rest of us.
