Growing up, the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory rather creeped me out. The little Oompah Loompas did it. The thought that eating the wrong gum could swell you into a blueberry didn’t help either.
I used to think that scarves were just for the cold months, but some people wear them year round, with summer scarves just made from a thinner material. Such is the case with this Game of Thrones Map Print Infinity Scarf.
This is a fun video by samuraiguitarist, who managed to perform a beautiful version of Somewhere over the Rainbow using nothing but interactive Google Doodles that produce sound. How crazy is that? I remember when Google Doodles were just static images.
I’ve been playing Hitman games as long as they have been out there. I love the franchise and even liked the movies. The thing with Hitman is that you can use stealth and ideally, you only kill your target and no one else.
I’ve spent many an hour building prisons to house inmates in Prison Architect. I’ve also spent a bunch of hours frustrated because I can’t seem to keep the prisoners from rioting or tunneling out no matter how many guards or dogs I have.
Amsterdam is getting a unique and very cool theater that will have movie fans giving up stadium seating and a big screen for rotating chairs and goggles. The project is called The Virtual Reality cinema and it will use chairs that can swivel 360-degrees, Samsung Gear VR headsets, and surround sound via Sennheiser HD 201 headphones.
How about experiencing a radio-like adventure on your Amazon Echo? You can now use Amazon’s electronic personal assistant to investigate the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents in this promotional tie-in for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.
I think one of the few flicks that Quentin Tarantino made that was actually worth watching was Pulp Fiction. I liked Jules the best, easily the most memorable character that Samuel L. Jackson has ever played.
Mortal Kombat was one of the most popular games in the arcade back in the day. It seemed like every time I went I ended up standing in line to play. I can also remember entering lots of cheat codes on the Super Nintendo version, I still remember one cheat code as up, down, left, right, left, right, A,B, B, A – but I forget what game it was for.
I can remember to this day how scared I was the first time I watched Aliens growing up. That movie was so cool I couldn’t look away, but I certainly didn’t sleep much that night. I remember ol’ Brown Bess from the movie, even though that rifle didn’t save the Marines.
Lots of super heroes have sidekicks. Batman has Robin for instance. So far, Deadpool doesn’t have a sidekick, but James Corden, host of the Late Late Show, really wants the job. So Corden sat down with Ryan Reynolds to try and persuade him to create a new sidekick role.
I’ll probably go see the Ghostbusters reboot when it hits theaters. I very much loved the original and I am always leery of reboots of films that I loved growing up. Sometimes they are fine, other times they suck hardcore.
Back in the ’80s, Saturday Night Live was the show all the cool kids stayed up to watch. If your parents let you stay up that late, you were a badass in elementary school. I liked those old skits with Eddie Murphy and his castmates, but the modern show is a bit boring to me.
My favorite Arnie flick from the ’80s was easily Predator. The later films in the franchise really sucked, but that original was a fantastic movie that gave us iconic characters and one-liners like “GET TO DA CHOPPA!”
Ryan Reynolds is a funny guy, and he was born to play Wade Wilson both before and after being turned into an avocado’s anus. I saw the movie this weekend and it was so awesome – easily my favorite superhero film even though Deadpool really isn’t a hero.
