I’m a sucker for old video game box art. My favorite systems when it comes to art were the Atari 2600 and the Nintendo Entertainment System. Back in those days they were able to sell the hell out of a game based on the box art alone.
If you want your frogs, lizards, and other cold-blooded creatures to undergo their Jedi training, this is the perfect place for it. They will enter as humble pollywog padawans and emerge as powerful swamp Jedi.
Aside from not having any Luke and Yoda figures in here, this is an awesome habitat for frogs and the like.
I’ve seen lots of models of the Starship Enterprise over the years, but this wooden version by Kretschmer Kreativ is one of the most beautiful and elegant versions I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Measuring in at 36″ long x 16″ wide x 8″ tall, the model is handmade entirely from wood and glue.
We always thought that Boba Fett was a true man’s man. If he grew up in the Victorian era, he’d be a proper gentleman, and he’d wear this hat.
This Mandalorian bowler hat is made by the the folks at The Blonde Swan, and it’s truly awesome.
Look at this enormous hammer! It looks just like a giant version of Thor’s mighty Mjolnir from the Avengers flicks. Though this implement is made of foam, so I guess that means a mere mortal could wield it.
NECA’s oversize Mjolnir replica stands 4 feet tall.
Look at that rainbow wave go. Taste the rainbow. I mean taste the LEGO. I mean, it’s just so wavy and pretty. Berthil van Beek makes many cool LEGO machines, but his latest machine is very very soothing and hypnotic.
This machine features 38 undulating colors and approximately 1,150 pieces.
What is the most ridiculous gun in the world? That would be this trombone gun. YouTuber CaptainQuinn and his son built this hilarious and obnoxiously loud trombone rifle about a year back. Sure, it isn’t new, but we thought we’d share because it is so fun and bizarre.
You can either shoot someone or shoot their ears out.
There are LEGOmaniacs and then there are LEGOmaniacs. James Burrows is a LEGOmaniac of the first order. Check out Beyond the Brick’s video of him giving a tour of his massive dinosaur themed LEGO park, complete with functional CoasterSaurus II roller coaster.
There is some actual science behind that coaster, since James said he took a college course to understand the math and physics of coasters so he could make the loop-de-loop work.
Do you love classic arcade games, but don’t have the room (or the cash) for an arcade cabinet in your living room? These fantastic pieces of arcade-inspired wall art are the next best thing.
Each one of Glitch Arwork’s 3D shadow boxes uses a combination of authentic arcade graphics, along with some artistic license to make the scenes more dynamic and for the sake of composition.
Do you want to scare the crap out of visitors to your house? Well, this massive Darth Vader statue should do the trick just fine. It measures in at a whopping 7’2″ tall, which is about how tall the real Vader is, and it tips the scales at nearly 850 pounds, which is what Jabba the Hutt probably weighs.
The sculpture was made by Kreatworks, using a variety of old car parts, and other found junk.
If you want to make a geeky pie for a special occasion, check this out. Jessica from Pies from Awesome is about to show us how to create a Super Mario pixel pie. It’s a me, Edible Mario!
Making a Mario pixel pie is actually easier than it sounds.
We’ve seen plenty of Super Mario Bros. dioramas, but most of them just stand still. Not this one. Jason Cichon created an actual moving side-scroller based on the classic Nintendo game, using LEGO bricks as his medium.
It took Jason eight days to build this after designing it and waiting for the parts.
Remember back in Star Wars: A New Hope when Luke destroys the Death Star on that trench run? Well I always thought that trench was the line you see through the equator of the Death Star, I would wager nearly all of you did too.
In a lot of video games as you get hammered on by the bad guys, your heart counter goes down. Loose all your hearts, you die. In some of those games you can refill your heart counter by drinking some sort of special health elixir.
The thing that always bothered me about the relationship between Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine was the power dynamic. Palpatine was in charge. Vader kneeled to him after all. The thing is that Vader was literally one of the most powerful Jedi ever.
