I think Daenerys Targaryen would totally back this Kickstarter project. The project is to create a line of foam swords for kids (and adults) to play with that have interchangeable parts so you can repair them or make your own.
I am a huge fan of hamburgers. I also recently moved to Colorado from Texas, and Colorado isn’t a Whataburger state. I’m sad about that, but I can now walk from Walmart to the car without having heat stroke so there’s that.
We’ve seen our share of official and unofficial LEGO AT-AT builds, but Noah‘s 5,000 piece build is something special. This one is properly scaled for LEGO minifigs! How cool is that?
Noah also built a Hoth diorama to go with it, naturally.
I used to think hamsters were cool until about 1990 when the field behind our house caught fire and all the field mice fled… right into our house. The little fuzzy bastards apparently liked it there and they would wake me up at all hours of the night doing whatever mice do in the dark.
You know the old saying: Don’t store all of your eggs in one batcave. I may have that wrong. Whatever. This Batman Egg Cup will dress up your egg like the Dark Knight himself. Do I really need to say anymore?
Sometimes movies are so cheesy and terrible that they end up being cult classics. This is exactly what happened with Sharknado. I watched that movie with my daughter one night because she is both afraid and interested in both sharks and tornados.
Did you know that Metroid turned 30 this year? Time flies when you are battling parasites and other nasties. Well, for the anniversary, Jared Rosenblitt built this awesome diorama recreating the big boss battle with the Parasite Queen.
Every year, Stoughton Farm in Newark Valley, New York makes a cool and intricate corn maze, or maize maze if you prefer, not to be corny. This year they have returned with a ’80s-inspired theme, based on the video game Super Mario Bros.
If you are really into Pokémon GO or were into Pokémon way before people were gathering in the local park to hunt for creatures, you will appreciate this belt. First and foremost, it does what a belt is meant to do – keep your pants up, but it also lets you catch Pokémon.
I spent many an hour growing up making buildings and cars out of LEGO. Inevitably, I would destroy the buildings in some sort of Godzilla fantasy. LEGO has a new official building kit that lets you make a blocky version of the US Capitol Building.
I assume in the future where man boldly explores there are no safety regulators or unions. I mean if every time a guy wearing a red shirt left the ship he died there would be some sort of safety investigation.
The web series Golden Thrones is all about finding the best public restrooms in the world. In the latest episode, host Jon DelCollo stopped in at The Way Station in Brooklyn to explore this TARDIS-themed loo.
I’m moving to Colorado from Texas this week and we plan on doing lots of outdoor activities in our new state since we can actually go outside without bursting into flames. I freely admit that I am worried about bears.
If you want the best props and costumes possible, you better get some help from a movie effects artist like Frank Ippolito, who recently built a refrigerator that looks exactly like Han Solo frozen in carbonite.
