Steampunk Jewelry: Gears for Geeks

Steampunk Jewelry: Gears for Geeks
Naturally, these cool pieces of handmade jewelry aren’t for everyone, but the steampunk allure that maker Ricky Wolbrom injects into her designs is kind of amazing if you are into the retro-mechanical look. All of Ricky’s pieces are one-off or limited edition jewelry, neatly fitting into the steampunk genre, complete with all requisite gears and other antique bits and bobs.

Boba Fett Helmet has a Cheap Bounty on Its Head

Boba Fett Helmet has a Cheap Bounty on Its Head
Entertainment Earth is showing off a new full-size Boba Fett helmet for pre-order. It features an articulated rangefinder and electronic sounds. I love how EE specifies that the helmet was “specially designed to look awesome for kids of all ages!”,

Mario and Princess Peach Dog Cosplay

Mario and Princess Peach Dog Cosplay
Now you’re probably are saying to yourself, why would I ever dress up my dog like a character from Super Mario Bros.? And I’ll tell you that you need to do it so your furry friend can be just as humiliated as you are when you have to pick up his poop. These ridiculous Nintendo-inspired dog costumes come to us courtesy of YoungUrbanPuppy, and are available in Mario, Princess Peach and Luigi varieties. Why not get a few of your doggie pals together and you can simulate actual gameplay – except this time, with wiener dogs. And if you are a Nintendo fan, but would rather not go with the goofy Super Mario Bros.

Tweet Sleeve: Wear Your Emotions on Your Sleeve

Tweet Sleeve: Wear Your Emotions on Your Sleeve
I think social networking is sometimes like over-sharing. Really, do you really need to share every little insignificant detail of your life with the entire universe? Now here’s something that reveals even more about your inconsequential tweets – clothes that tell the whole world how you feel! The odd thing is that this bit of wearable technology by Vanessa Sorenson is that it doesn’t actually detect your mood using any kind of fancy emotion-sensing sensors.

Weta Legs Let You Act Out Your Creature Fantasies

Weta Legs Let You Act Out Your Creature Fantasies
Created by Weta Workshop, the guys responsible for the props and production design of  Lord of the Rings, Avatar, and District 9, these incredible appendages let you strut around looking like an animal or giant insect. Weta Legs let stunt people and performers walk, run or jump while maintaining their balance in a creature-like gait.

Apple Co-Founder Pokes Fun at Company’S Leak Woes

Apple Co-Founder Pokes Fun at Company’S Leak Woes
I’m pretty sure you’ll never see Steve Jobs wear this shirt. And it’s not because he prefers turtlenecks. That’s Apple’s other Steve, Steve Wozniak, wearing a shirt that refers to Gray Powell’s infamous blunder. Powell is the now famous Apple engineer who last month went to a Redwood City, Calif.,

Devon Tread 1 Motorized Watch Looks Awesome, but Crazy Expensive

Devon Tread 1 Motorized Watch Looks Awesome, but Crazy Expensive
I have said before that I don’t wear watches. If I were a billionaire and could just throw away money on cool stuff that I don’t really need, I would buy this new Devon Tread 1 watch. This thing has a clear polycarbonate case that is supposedly bulletproof.

Wipe Shirt Cleans Your Fingerprinty Gadgets

Wipe Shirt Cleans Your Fingerprinty Gadgets
We often use what we’re wearing as an improvised rag to clean our gadgets or glasses. Design duo fift wanted to put a stop to this silliness, so they and came up with the Wipe Shirt, a dress shirt with a built-in microfiber cloth on one of its cuffs or shirt tails. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to take advantage of the Wipe Shirt: I’d rather have the version with the microfiber cloth on the cuff, where it’s slightly out of sight, because the microfiber looks like a giant ink stain.

X-Men Wolverine Motorcycle Suit From X2 Gets Real

X-Men Wolverine Motorcycle Suit From X2 Gets Real
I like the X-Men; in fact I watch the cartoon with my son sometimes. It reminds me of the cartoons from Saturdays when I was his age. I though the X2: X-Men united film was pretty darn cool too, even if the first flick was better.

Hamilton Time Player Watch: Weird Inspiration, Shallow Implementation

Hamilton Time Player Watch: Weird Inspiration, Shallow Implementation
Hamilton claims that the Time Player watch was inspired by the fact that man used to believe that the earth was flat. So Hamilton made… a flat watch. A flat watch that displays the time in four different zones, and doubles as a pseudo-puzzle. The tile in the middle of the watch is non-essential and can be removed, giving the user the option to slide around the tiles, like in those square tile puzzles (I don’t know what they’re really called, if those things even have a name).

Tokyoflash Instant Trend Watch Sends Tweets to Your Wrist

Tokyoflash Instant Trend Watch Sends Tweets to Your Wrist
The guys over at watchmaker Tokyoflash never cease to amaze me with their creative digital watch designs. Their latest concept is the Instant Trend, a timepiece that not only looks cool, but can display text notifications from your mobile phone. Assuming the watch ever gets made, the Instant Trend would receive instant Twitter and Facebook notifications when paired with your smartphone via Bluetooth. Messages and time would be displayed on a bright (presumably OLED) blue-on-black dot-matrix display, set into a modern black stainless steel body. Reading time on the Instant Trend doesn’t have to be as challenging as most Tokyoflash watch displays either.

Star Wars Belt Buckles: May Your Shorts be With You

Star Wars Belt Buckles: May Your Shorts be With You
Star Wars junkies, here’s a great way to keep your pants from falling down the next time you start dancing your ass off to A Galactic Empire State of Mind. Actually, you’ll first need to buy a belt to keep your pants up, but you could definitely put the proper finishing touch on your belt with one of these Star Wars metal belt buckles.

1/4 Watch Tells Time With No Hands

1/4 Watch Tells Time With No Hands
I have developed a strange fascination with watches recently, despite the fact that I have no desire to wear one. I have my trusty iPhone if I want to know what time it is after all.

Mega Man Gets Knit Onto a Pair of Chuck Taylors
Do you love Mega Man? These hand-knit Chuck Taylor high-tops are the perfect sneakers for retro NES fanboys or girls.

Bsod Belt and Pong Belts Are Perfect for Those Dressy Geek Occasions

Bsod Belt and Pong Belts Are Perfect for Those Dressy Geek Occasions
I will admit to an irrational fear of writing BSOD, saying BSOD, or thinking BSOD. I think Windows sits waiting like HAL for us to utter the word and then offers up the dreaded blue screen out of spite.
