While it’s certainly not as slick as Ben Heck’s Wii laptop casemod, this new accessory from Pega HK makes your Nintendo Wii a little more mobile. The device adds a perfectly matched 7-inch LCD screen to the top of your Wii, making it easy to play the console anywhere you’ve got an outlet.

Nokia today revealed their latest high-end phone, the 8600 Luna. Constructed mostly from stainless steel, the new model’s main appeal comes in its sexy industrial design. The phone’s most striking feature is its illuminated numeric keypad, concealed beneath a smoked glass slider.

Palm today rolled out the details on a new device which extends the functionality of smartphones. Dubbed the Foleo, it’s a companion product for both Palm OS and Windows Mobile versions of Treo smartphones. In a nutshell, Foleo adds a big screen and a full size keyboard to your mobile phone.

Philips has released their new line of GoGear mobile media players with video playback capabilities. The GoGear SA6000 series features a 2.2-inch color LCD screen (320×240 resolution,) and can play back WMV vid clips. Philips also throws in a software converter for AVI, QuickTime and DVD (VOB) format files.

The world’s most prolific console modder, Ben Heck, has a new trick up his sleeve. This time, he’s partnered up with a company called Gameport to design a portable emulation console for mass-production. Currently in the prototype stages, the pocket-sized Gameport will be capable of emulating multiple classic 8-bit systems, currently the Atari 2600 and Colecovision, with additional systems to come in future.

Samsung has shown off the world’s thinnest AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) color displays, coming in at an amazing 0.53 millimeters thick. To put that in perspective, the displays are just about the thickness of heavy card stock paper.

Here’s an interesting phone out of China that steals a page out of the Samsung F520 book with an interesting dual-slider design that conceals both phone and gaming controls. When oriented in portrait mode, the slider reveals a dialing and menu navigation buttons, but when turned to landscape mode, out pops a dual joypad design for playing games.

E-Ink has announced a major upgrade to their electronic paper display technology which should substantially improve the quality over the earlier generation of displays. E Ink’s new Vizplex display modules have a new switching mechanism which will allow the displays to refresh almost twice as fast as prior displays.

Here’s what looks like a very cool portable casemod for the Nintendo GameCube. The so-called “GameCube Advance” handheld opens up to reveal access to a large LCD screen and complete gaming controls. On the outside, there’s OLED display for accessing the system’s built-in MP3 player.

In a surprising move, Research In Motion today announced that they will start to produce software that will let you run BlackBerry applications on select Windows Mobile 6 devices. The BlackBerry software will run side-by-side with Windows Mobile applications as a dedicated icon on the programs list.

Hot on the heels of Ben Heck’s last mod, the PS360 hybrid joystick, he’s at it again. This time he’s cranked out another Xbox 360 laptop, which improves on the original one he did a few months back.

This little add-on for the Nintendo DS (and DS Lite) lets you listen to the radio while getting your game on. The $14 Dragon NDS Lite FM Radio Converter plugs into the front expansion port on the DS, and gets its power from the DS internal battery.

GPS maker Mio Technology today announced their new compact personal navigator system, the Digiwalker C220. (Yes, I know that’s a map of England, even though yours will come with U.S. maps) The C220 lists for just $249.95 and is a good choice for a first-time GPS or for a second car.

Thanks to a leaked rebate form, we now know exactly what the new Sidekick ID messaging device looks like. From the look of these images, the new model will come in several bright, candy colored finishes which should appeal to the teen market.
