Looking for a place to put your collection of Star Wars books? While you could grab some of those trash compactor bookends, you might want to put a set of these Jabba’s Palace bookends on another shelf.
I know that making AT-ATs out of snow has been one way of using up some of the massive snowfall that’s been plaguing the U.S. this season, but I have to say that this one from Norway actually looks pretty awesome too.
Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor has been on the air for over a year now, and it’s high time for a replica of his sonic screwdriver to be made. Just like the Doctor changes bodies when he regenerates, the same thing happens to his tech.
This is awesome. A team of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organization has discovered what they claim to be a massive underground cave on the moon. The scientists think that in the future the cave might even possibly be able to be used as a moon base.
Any geek knows that Jabba’s prized possession (other than a bikini clad Leia) was Han Solo encased in carbonite. That is one of the most iconic scenes from The Empire Strikes Back. Someone has taken that carbonite Solo and recreated it grandma-style.
This amazing Transformers Megatron tank sculpture was created in China and it’s a pretty impressively large thing, weighing in at almost 5 tons. The tank was created by Jiang Chen and Yang Junlin’s Wing Wah ironworks factory.
When I saw Terminator 2 Judgment Day in the theater, I was blown away. We’d all seen the first Terminator movie in secret, but the second one definitely put the bar up high. This is one of the reasons why the Terminator 2 Judgment Day T-800 Endoskull Replica is so cool.
The University of Michigan has announced that it has developed a computer that’s so small that it could potentially be implanted into the eyes of glaucoma patients in order to monitor the overall eye pressure.

I bet the Star Wars movies would have been much shorter if this was Han Solo’s ship:
But in terms of appearance, I think the whole is less than the sum of its parts. You can get the Millenterprise Falcon t-shirt at Redbubble for $24 (USD).
When I think about DARPA building robots, I envision something along the line of the Terminator or Johnny 5. That isn’t what DARPA has in mind though (at least in this project) as one of its projects has hit the prototype operation phase.
The Empire’s Imperial Walkers were always awesome, there’s no denying it. Thankfully, I’m not the only one who thinks so. But designer Steven Anderson has come up with a few different designs to make them look a bit cooler as they stomp.
