I have a love-hate relationship with Super Mario Bros. I really like the game, and played it a lot back in the day on my NES. I also died a lot and remain utterly convinced to this day that the game cheated.
Are you a DOOM fan? Of course, you are. Do you own a Roomba? Of course, you do. Now you can combine two of your favorite things into one new cool thing. DOOMBA is a script written by programmer and designer Rich Whitehouse for his 3D model and animation conversion program Noesis that allows you to create playable Doom maps from the data collected by your Roomba.
A few years back, an artist created a sculpture of what Pac-Man might look like in the real world. The image was simultaneously adorable and disturbing, and made me wonder what the yellow dot-gobbler’s insides might look like.
Woodgrain. There was a time when all of our coolest gadgets (and station wagons) were covered in this fake veneer. I for one, think it looks awesome and wish everything from our phones to our computers was still covered in the stuff.
These days, we play a lot of retro games on modern consoles, so naturally classic controllers have become popular. You can buy these remade controllers from several third-party manufacturers to provide a more authentic retro gaming experience.
Two of the best all-time Nintendo games are Super Mario Bros. and Mega Man. So I can think of no better Nintendo hero than one who combines Mario and Mega Man himself.

Retro games are hot right now with all sorts of devices out there from Nintendo, Sony, and others. Check out this miniature version of Galaxian from My Arcade.
The Handheld Galaxian arcade cabinet is about 6.75″ tall and has a 2.75″ LCD screen.
There’s no doubt about it; the Nintendo Switch has been a huge success. In fact, Nintendo has completely turned things around from the failure of the Wii U, which was embarrassing. But it’s more than just a huge hit.
Fans of video games might not recognize the name Charles Martinet, but you have heard his voice if you ever played a game with Mario in it, as Charles has been the voice of the character since back in the early 1990s.
The very first arcade game I ever played a sit-down console style Pac-Man game at a Pizza Hut, and it was awesome. I fed more quarters into arcade games than I care to admit. If you want some of that ’80s arcade nostalgia in your home or office, check this out.
I mentioned before that I had wanted my own ’80s arcade in my home since Silver Spoons was on the air. Arcade1Up has been peddling smaller sized arcade cabinets that look like those classics from the ’80s, and packing multiple games.
Fans of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System might be familiar with its Japanese counterpart, the Nintendo Family Computer (aka the Famicom.) If you dig classic ’80s games and classic ’80s cars, you might dig this too.
