Well, 2010 is drawing to a close, and it was another great year for gadgets, games, gizmos and weird science. Lots of exciting things happened with everything from the release of the iPad and iPhone 4 to the Microsoft Kinect to the astronomical growth of Android, to the abysmal (but predictable) disappointment that was 3D TV (and don’t get me started on the 3D movies.) All tolled, we published over 2,400 posts this year, bringing our total since we launched in 2006 up to over 7,000 posts.

It’s already pretty awesome to get a gold medal. Really – it means that for at least one day, you were the best in the world at something, and there’s no arguing with that. But Olympic medals have become increasingly more beautiful, too, and the medals for the 2010 Vancouver winter games are no exception… and it doesn’t hurt that they’re made from old circuit boards! The medals all feature work by Canadian artists Corrine Hunt and Omer Arbel, and are each laser-etched with a unique design so that no two of the games’ medals will be the same.

BioShock 2, the sequel to Take-Two’s alternative history shooter has been delayed to the first half of 2010. The horror! The sequel was originally slated to debut late this year, just in time for the holiday buying season, but the title has been pushed back. Does the game need more development time?
