Rick and Morty fans will probably recall the episode called “Total Rickall.” During one scene,  Rick hatches a plan to buy limited-edition Legend of Zelda 3DS consoles from Walmart for $149, then get a $50 gift card, and sell them for $230 to get rich.

The last time we checked on Smealum and co.’s Homebrew Launcher for the Nintendo 3DS, it required the user to have a copy of Cubic Ninja, a game that’s now rare and expensive for this very reason.

The New Nintendo 3DS’ face buttons were inspired by the Super Famicom controller. Etsy shop Epic Pal Designs must have thought, “Why stop there?”, and made this cool set of SNES decals for the handheld. The set consists of a decal for the buttons, the top screen, the lid and the rear cover.

Jordan “Smealum” Rabet, the programmer behind the Ninjhax Nintendo 3DS Homebrew channel, has released another major contribution for gamers looking to maximize the handheld system. His RegionThree loader lets you play 3DS games from any region.

Jordan “Smealum” Rabet and a team of fellow hackers have finally relased the first exploit that allows homebrew applications to run on any Nintendo 3DS model. Called Ninjhax, the software takes advantage of a previously obscure 3DS game called Cubic Ninja, causing demand for the poorly received game to skyrocket.

Thanks to a number of exploits, the Nintendo DS had a healthy homebrew scene. But the exploits also led to one of the most convenient forms of video game piracy: flash cartridges, or flash carts. Thankfully, homebrew fans could be in for a treat, because hacker Smealum is working on a homebrew channel for the Nintendo 3DS using an exploit that isn’t enough to play pirated 3DS games.

Nintendo is showing off a new version of the popular video game Super Smash Bros. at E3 this week. The coolest thing about the game is the new playable characters that have been added. For the first time Pac-Man and Mega Man are available as playable characters in the same game.

I can’t play real golf at all and can barely play mini golf, but golf games aren’t that bad. If you are a fan of golf games, you might be interested in the new game coming early next month to Nintendo 3DS and 2DS handhelds.

As everyone knows by now, Nintendo needs to sell anything they can since the Wii U has sold so terribly for them. So to get more sales in general, and to promote the release of Yoshi’s New Island, Nintendo is releasing a new, special edition Yoshi-branded Nintendo 3DS XL.

Nintendo’s announcement of the Nintendo 2DS is one of the most surprising developments in the gaming world this year. As an entry-level variant of the Nintendo 3DS, the 2DS can play all 3DS games and thousands more DS games.

It seems Nintendo has taken Wesley Snipes’ advice and bet on black. Nintendo has announced that it will be launching a new black version of the 3DS XL, known as the 3DS LL in Japan, on November 1.

Each time I look at a photo of the Nintendo 3DS XL I wonder why Nintendo didn’t just add a second circle pad to the console from the start. I always figured it was because Nintendo wanted to sell the Circle Pad accessory.

I’m not a huge fan of the Nintendo 3DS myself, but if it looked like the classic NES, like the one pictured here, I would buy two of them. Now before you drool all over the place, this is sadly just a mockup.

Nintendo has a long and storied history of offering lame accessories for its game consoles. The trend started back in the original Nintendo console days when he had R.O.B. – that robot that would pick up spinning gyroscopes in tune with the game, and never seemed to sync up and always seem to miss placing the gyroscopes correctly.
