The cool thing about the Skylanders franchise is that kids can buy action figures and then take those real action figures into the digital game world to play with. The game has spawned many copycats, and proven very popular for Activision.
Looking back at the Atari 2600, it really wasn’t very good until Activision came along and raised the bar for graphics and sound for the early 8-bit console. To commemorate these classic games, Chicago Toy Collector Dan Polydoris created this nifty set of custom action figures.
The creators of the incredibly popular Halo franchise have announced a new project they are working on called Destiny. The video game will introduce players to an epic science fiction universe, including a persistent online world filled with sweeping adventures.
When I dust off the old Atari Flashback to play games from the Atari 2600, I realize how crappy most of the games really were. The only games which really stand the test of time are the Activision games, like Kaboom!,
I am a huge fan of James Bond. I grew up watching all the movies and always thought of Roger Moore as Bond more than Sean Connery. I have to admit though, out of all of the actors to play James Bond over the years, Daniel Craig is hands-down the best in my opinion.
If you have sensitive hearing, you might want to cover your ears because gamers around the world are about to shout ARGGGHHHHH en mass. Yeah, I guess this isn’t really that much of a surprise considering all the long delays that Diablo III has been hit with over the years.
I have to be honest with you; I usually look at the people who buy the expensive collector’s edition video games with some amusement. I mean these people pay a lot more for the collector’s edition game to get goofy things like a tin box for the game or DLC clothes and such.
The guys over at Gizmodo got their hands on early pics of the new guitars for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, and they’re really looking sweet.
By moving all of the electronics out the body of the guitar and into the neck, you’ll be able to swap outthe bodies to personalize your guitar to your own liking.
There’s nothing I like better than a good FPS, and Raven’s upcoming shooter Singularity looks like it could be a whole lotta fun, thanks to its use of time-manipulation as a game dynamic.
The games singularity weapons allow players to quickly bend time, making buildings crumble on top of opponents as they deteriorate from age.
Activision has a real obsession with heroes… at least, the musical kind. They’ve just filed a trademark for Drum Hero. But can’t we pound on plastic drums already? In several different ways? I guess it really needs its own brand.
Forget all those plastic instruments and the problem of strumming or drumming or prancing around with a microphone–it’s time to get ready for the next iteration with DJ Hero, Activision Blizzard’s new franchise, due out at the end of this month.
The Guitar Hero franchise has now grown to epic proportions, but I think they’re not quite up to 22 games… yet. But 22 new songs have been revealed from the forthcoming Guitar Hero 5. Need more numbers?
The classic adventure Zork is making its way back in a browser-based form, thanks to Jolt Online Games, and the Irish company has put out a call for more beta testers to take up the adventurer’s mantle and descend into a place of horrors, grue, and text commands.
