Hey, kids! Now you can die of dysentery any time and any place! Thanks to Basic Fun, we now have a handheld version of Brøderbund’s classic 1980s survival simulation game, The Oregon Trail. The handheld version features a case and buttons inspired by the beige cases of 1980s computers, and offers up a complete version of the game you can play anywhere you’d like.

It’s always nice to see old school technology brought back from the dead to serve some modern purpose. In this case, we’re looking at an old Apple IIe, customized to display posts from Twitter. Modder Yergacheffe had to MacGyver together a PC to Apple II interface to transfer data from a modern PC’s USB port.

This could be my favorite Mac Mini mod yet. Take one part retro Apple Disk ][ drive and one part Mac Mini, and what do you get? A little bit of casemodding genius. Modder Charles Mangin took the guts out of his old Disk ][ enclosure and managed to find a way to squeeze the innards of a Mac Mini inside the case.
